Prima della fine del 2014 dovrebbe essere firmato l’accordo internazionale che regola la partecipazione della Svizzera al programma di ricerca europeo Horizon 2020.
La Svizzera sarà probabilmente ammessa al il pilastro “Excellent Science”, ai bandi FET (Future and Emerging Technologies), a quelli sulle Infrastrutture di Ricerca, alle azioni Marie-Curie, alle azioni dell’obiettivo specifico “Spreading excellence and widening participation” ed infine al Programma Euratom ed alle attività svolte dall’impresa comune europea per ITER e lo Sviluppo di Fusion for Energy per il periodo 2014-2020.
La partecipazione della Svizzera come paese associato è prevista a partire dal 15 settembre 2014 e durerà fino al 31 dicembre 2016.
Per ora quindi la Svizzera è considerata associata per i bandi delle linee suddette la cui scadenza per la presentazione dei progetti sia dal 15 settembre 2014 in avanti. Per le altre linee di ricerca la Svizzera avrà lo stato di paese terzo.
An international agreement associating Switzerland to parts of Horizon 2020 is expected to be signed before the end of 2014. The parts to which Switzerland would be associated are: the “Excellent Science” pillar, containing the European Research Council, Future and Emerging
Technologies, Research Infrastructures and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions; the actions under the specific objective “Spreading excellence and widening participation”; and finally the Euratom Programme and the activities carried out by the European Joint Undertaking for ITER and the Development of Fusion for Energy for 2014-2020. The participation of Switzerland to these parts of
Horizon 2020 and to Euratom Programme and to ITER as an Associated Country is expected to provisionally apply from 15 September 2014 and to last until 31 December 2016 (this would be then followed by either full association or no association, i.e. third country status). This means that, pending signature of the agreement later in 2014, Switzerland will be assumed to be associated for calls under the above mentioned priorities and programmes which have a deadline for submission from 15 September 2014 onwards, and Swiss entities will count towards the minimum participation requirements as if they were established in an Associated Country. Swiss entities will participate with
a status of third country entities in other Horizon 2020 priorities that are not listed above.
